Frequently asked questions
I am based just outside of Guildford.
I teach all three sciences from KS3 up to A-level, and maths up to Further/ Additional Maths GCSE.
Whilst online lessons account for the bulk of my tutoring these days, I do teach face-to-face within the south-west Surrey area. If you'd prefer me to visit your home, just let me know where you're based and I'll let you know if it's feasible :)
Absolutely. Whilst I feel it's important to teach maths and science in a way that helps the student find joy and fascination in the subject material, I am always mindful that my role as a tutor is generally to increase the chances of exam success, or achieving a grade necessary to go to a preferred university or school. To that end, I always ensure that any material taught within a session is subsequently assessed by exam-style questions, which we will always review together in line with a mark scheme's expected answers.
I regularly help students prepare for 11+, 13+, 16+ and university pre-tests.
At 13+, I have particular experience coaching children for the Eton King's Scholarship and the Winchester Election. Several students have successfully gone on to become scholars at their respective schools.
I also help A-level students prepare for the NSAA required to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge University.
